AAU Nationals 2025, Orlando, FL
Pulling out of the driveway on a sunny summer morning, I could already feel the excitement building. Just a quick two-hour drive down the highway and we’d be in Orlando for the 2025 volleyball tournament. I was heading there as both dad and photographer, ready to cheer on my daughter and her team while capturing every big moment through my lens. The car was packed with gear, snacks, and just enough coffee to power me through the weekend. Friends from all over were converging on the city, and the week ahead promised great competition, even greater memories, and more than a few laughs in between.
When we weren’t courtside capturing diving saves and game-winning spikes, we were soaking up the other side of the trip—Orlando’s summer magic. Our hotel was a dream, complete with a sprawling pool that became the team’s unofficial headquarters. Afternoons were spent drifting between conversations with friends, camera in hand for candid moments, and the girls dipping into the water to cool off from the blazing sun. At night, we’d gather for dinner, swapping stories from the day’s matches, with the kids still buzzing about their plays and the parents just happy to be together.
Looking back, the trip was more than just volleyball—it was a celebration of community. The heat, the games, the poolside laughter, and the little snapshots of joy all came together to make a week that felt like summer in its purest form. As I packed my camera at the end of the trip, I knew the pictures I took wouldn’t just show action shots—they’d capture the heart of our time here: friendship, family, and the kind of memories you only make when you mix sports with sunshine.
